Voting Question: Question Is there a surgery to make people shorter?!?
I'm 14 and I'm most likely going to very tall, because my mom is six feet tall and my dad is five feet and inches tall. I was wondering if there is plastic/cosmetic surgery, so they cease me from getting any taller or make me a bit shorter. If there is something can you tell me what it's called an the price range? Right now I'm five feet and six inches tall and I want to stay that way..... Thank You! : )

Open Question: How do i get my parents to let me buy contacts?
I want to receive green colored contacts... i'm 13 and a girl if you haven't guessed. My parents think its an issue of me not liking my black eyes, and my dad thinks it will guide to other cosmetic things and eventually plastic surgery (i know what the hell???). They also say i shouldn't be asking for things because "i'm not responsible" and "i don't study" and "i don't pray (i'm Muslim so you have to pray 5 times a day)" but i'm a good kid i guess SOMETIMES i'm a bit cheeky with my parents but i receive 90s and high 80s. My parents wont budge.. they said if for 2 months i behave i can maybe receive them but i have a VERY important wedding in 2 weeks and i want to wear them so what should i do??? Please helpful answers and no 3 word answers. I pray but sometimes i forget.. plz any answer that will receive me the contacts...

Open Question: will the judge force sale on the house im not named on?
split from my husband in january 2011, due to his unreasonable behaviour and ?? affair, we have been married since august 2005, we have two kids together ages 4 & 5, i also have a son by a previous partner aged 11. In 2006 we brought a property which remains in Richards name only. since leaving I have continued to pay the £500 a month loan soley in his name end august 2013 and also the credit card at £120 a month again soley in his name £6.000 approx remaining. the debt from the loan is of joint making and the credit card was used for my cosmetic surgery that he agreed to as I called him at work for the credit card details on the day it required to be paid of which he gave me. I have always worked as a self employed childminder but unfortuneatly I am now possibly going to be un able to financially afford HIS financially agreements, he is saying he is going to sell the home to pay off the debts and give me half of what equity is left in the property. Two of my kids attend the local school the youngest due to start in September of this year. I have been told I dont legally have to pay for his debts but he states his solicitor has told him I will because i benefitted from the spend so I do. I have obtained a deed of occupation through land registery but again he said hes going to take me to court to receive it forced sold through the courts. Question what the hell do I do and where do I stand in every of this. He has now moved significantly away I live in Southampton he lives in Melksham and he is due to move in with his latest girlfriend in March, she has three kids twin boys aged 10 and another son aged 12. he sees the kids for two hours on a Monday on the week he has them at the weekend from 7pm friday night and he returns them home at 6pm on the sunday every other weekend He currently pays me £300 a month maintenance but he says hes going to cease that if I dont pay for the debts. Child Support state my money will go down if I claim through them if he stops because they will take in account he will have to support her 3 kids financially even though she gets maintenance from their dad, he currently pays via standing order without the involvement od csa I wish thats every the facts you need for now, to be able to help me. Im not entilted to legal aid as I earn 72 a month to much inclusive of my tax credits

Open Question: Where can I find an article about the phenomenon of women choosing to have cosmetic surgery after giving birth?
I am a doctoral candidate working on a phenomenological paper about women's experiences with non-medical plastic surgery. I am trying to find an article to support a paragraph I wrote about my interviewee wanting to have augmentative mammaplasty and liposuction after she had kids. She explicitly stated that she wanted to feel as she had before she'd had kids. I would think that a lot of people have plastic surgery to restore their bodies to the way they were before they gave birth...but I cannot find a single article that supports this claim. I've search google scholar, JSTOR, PsychInfo....and many datatbases and journals....please let me know if you can find something or have suggestions as to what keywords I should be searching. Thanks!

Open Question: How does the health care system in the United States work?
I'm from Canada and here we have free health care. So, if you want to go look a doctor, you just take your health card with you and that's it. Whether you're going for a full body checkup, blood test, MRI scans, dermatologist, etc, it's every free. The prescriptions drugs are not covered tough. Unlimited doctor visits, free surgeries (necessary / life-threatening ones only; no cosmetic). Do they have a similar system in the United States? If not, then how many doctor visits are free on your health insurance plan? Also, are surgeries covered? Let's say if you need a live transplant (which costs over $200, 000), how much would you pay if you have insurance?

Open Question: Doctor advice? Please? I get bullied. (pigmentation of my under eye skin)THUMBS UP TO ALL ANSWERS! please help?
The purple pigmentation of my below eyes has become a recent problem. They are really dark and are really noticeable against my white skin. Make up does not cover up it. I do try and drink at least 3 litres per day. Please don't say its because of genetics because my mom, dad and their parents do not have it. I'm 14 in case it helps. I also changed my diet a few years back, I used to eat and drink unhealthy junk like pop and sweets. Now I don't eat crisps, pop and limit chocolate to once a week. I have also had quite a healthy diet though because I normally go through 10pints of full fat milk per week and I eat a lot of eggs and slow-energy foods. I also snooze for at least 9 hours per night and any snooze I miss out on, I will always catch it up on the weekend. I receive bullied about it at school a lot as you can imagine. I've heard every the names, zombie, druggie, etc. I've been to the doctor but he says there is nothing to worry about. My mom said there might be cosmetic surgery I could receive done, but so far we have found no such. Please, please if you give me advice. I would change anything to receive rid of it. I never used to have it. What should I eat, drink, how much should I snooze for? My doctor said it wasn't an allergy. Are there any pills I could take??? Thank you ever so much for every of your help and advice. Thumbs up to every sensible answers, I will read them every. Experiences and thoughts welcome. Thank you and I wish you a jolly good day :) xxx

Open Question: Does anyone else think that very few people are ugly?
I've always believed that the truly ugly people are the ones who have extremely disproportionate features. I think that people who have too much cosmetic surgery are ugly. People who have ridiculously shaped noses, mouths, etc are ugly. Fortunately, most people have regularly shaped features. Does anyone else think that very few people are ugly? There are some people who seem to call average-looking folks ugly. I think that only 1-2% of every people are ugly. The relax are not.

Voting Question: Why does the IWC believe Taker and Kane are not played by the same people who played them last?
Ever since Kane's return, people have been saying "That is not Kane" or "That is not Taker". Yet I don't count them as true wrestling fans if they can't spot the obvious giveaway that Masked Kane is Glenn Jacobs and Undertaker is Mark Calaway. I just laughed when people said on the night Kane returned, that Kane was Undertaker. Unless Undertaker has had cosmetic surgery and has put on weight, there is no chance that that was Undertaker. Plus people still questioned if Kane was Taker after the RAW Kane returned. The smirk, the Jacob's smirk. Nobody can master that like Jacob's and that was a Glenn Jacob smirk for sure As for Undertaker, people have said that he looks different. Now I agree he looks a bit younger, but that is Mark Calaway. I think people just say it isn't Calaway because they have not seen him since beginning of April 2011. Yes it has been a while Seriously guys, do you think WWE would be insane enough to have fakers play Undertaker and Kane? No. Just accept that Kane is played by Glenn Jacobs, Taker is played by Mark Calaway and nobody else can mimmick their physical form. But do you think that my point is the case of people being 'confused' over who is played Kane or Taker. Or do you have a different theory

Voting Question: If Buddhism teaches that desires are unsatisfying, then what's the point?
Buddhism points out that fulfilling one desire only leads to two more, and we are never glad, fulfilled or satisfied. I have goals in my life that will be difficult to achieve, if the over is true, why even bother? Why expend a lot of effort on anything if it's every pointless anyway? I have a cosmetic chest deformity that can only be corrected through painful surgery. Should I resign myself to the way I am now, because satisfying a desire is just creating disappointment? Especially a desire that requires as much gumption as this? I feel very stuck, and depressed.

Resolved Question: Is Calvinistic Christianity a form of sexual discrimination?
I've just returned from a intelligence gathering mission from Scotland into the attitudes and changing perceptions of Christianity in the Modern Making of Scotland and it's role in the definition of sexual equality. Scotland was chosen due to it's particular history with regards to the influence Christianity and the Church has played in it's history. Roman Catholicism and Calvinism were particularly paid attention to in the redefining of the sexual identification and emancipation concerning the sexes in an environment that had been shaped by Catholic guilt and Calvinistic predestination. One particular Presbyter was preaching in the centre of Glasgow and his message to me and my colleagues was one of sheer ambivalence to women and the subject he used for his sermon was the current problems women are undergoing with these faulty silicon breast implants and the stress and worry this is causing for women. The gist of his harangue was based on Knoxian...John Knox...principles in that ...,"Women are untrustworthy and foolish and not to trusted." Further to that the words....Vanity is thy middle name was thrown out...and one of my female colleagues took great umbrage at this comment and asked for the Presbyter to explain. Apparently within Calvinism a lady who has cosmetic surgery is no more than a harlot and like Jezebel will receive her just rewards for vanity and mendacious selfishness along with the sin of interfering with God's design just for enhancing her looks and physical appearance and the price of this now is God's punishment on lady. I thought it was due to the fact that some clinics had used a dodgy product and conned these needy women and further to that were avoiding their duty of care to fix what they put there in the first place. However I was told I was wrong and even insulted when asked what religion I was...I replied I was brought up as Roman Catholic..but before I could say further I'd left the Church of Rome...I was told in no uncertain terms that Idolatry in the form of the mom/Whore worship made me an accomplice of the Anti-Christ. It's a good job I've got a forgiving nature and didn't take offense but the females in the group were deeply shocked and upset and are even considering reporting this matter to the Police below Equality Laws. So is Calvinistic Christianity taken fundamentally and literally a form of sexual discrimination against women? OMG cat:Now that is a question worth asking.

Resolved Question: Question about plastic surgery?
I've been planning on getting rhinoplasty for quite some time (please no hate comments). I only want surgery performed on the base of my nose (my nose is quite wide), but nothing on the bridge. I was checking out prices online and one site said it was $6500 for purely cosmetic rhinoplasty and $2500 for limited rhinoplasty- for nostril narrowing only. My question is what would I be paying?

Resolved Question: Why are some women so materialistic?
I started noticing how materialistic people can be while I was in high school, and to me it makes sense at that age. You're just learning who you are and are wanting to fit in and be seen as a "top shelf" person. But I'm out of high school now and noticing that with some people it becomes even worse as they receive older. It wouldn't bother me as much, but it's starting to affect me and my fiance. His step-mom is one of these materialistic people. His dad recently went overseas for a year, and ever since he left she's been spending every of their money on things that she doesn't need. She doesn't have a job to help with expenses, but expects to be pampered and showered with expensive things 24/7. So far she has refurnished the entire home (including every new appliances and electronics), got a brand new Chrysler 300 (the most expensive one they had), replaced her cell phone and her 11 year old daughter's cell phone 4 times EACH (every of which costed more than $500 a piece), got an entirely new wardrobe for her and her daughter, and is now going through multiple cosmetic surgeries that aren't covered by her insurance. And he's only been gone for 3 months! It's getting pretty ridiculous, and my fiance's dad doesn't even know about it; step-mom wants the "upgrades" to be a surprise for when he gets back. They're living off of an Air Force major's pay grade, and I have no idea how they're not broke already. So far it hasn't directly affected us, but she wants my future dad-in-law to financially clip us out. By that, she means taking away his GI Bill and military benefits (healthcare, access to the commissary, etc.), which he has until he's 23 or married just like every other military kid, and taking him off of their phone plan, which his dad doesn't want to do until their contract is up because it will cost more to cancel a line early. I'm 11 weeks pregnant, and we're waiting until he's done with college to receive married so that we both have health benefits and a GI Bill to pay for his classes. His dad wants to help us out any way he can, as do my parents, but his step-mom refuses to let him do anything for us. But she still wants to claim my fiance on their taxes so that she can receive more money back. I'm not asking how to make the situation better. Trying to reason with this lady is hopeless and not my place. My question is how can she be so materialistic? How can she care more about possessions than people? I just find this so frustrating, even more-so since my hormones are going crazy. (Sorry this post is so long. It's partial venting as well as a question.)

If you saved up for a cosmetic surgery for years that you've ALWAYS wanted, but then suddenly lost your job, would you go for it? Resolved Question: How is gender reassignment surgery any different from cosmetic surgery?
I mean technically speaking neither is medically necessary. I could argue that someone wanting bigger boobs or a tummy tuck is "suffering" in their self-esteem because of their "distorted" body image. But that still doesn't justify the procedure being paid for by taxpayers, does it?...so why the double standard? (especially at a time of insufficient public medical budgets)

Resolved Question: MTF HRT for penniless, unhealthy agoraphobe?
Hi. I was born biologically male. This has been, among most of the other things in my life (if not every of them), a curse. Unfortunately, I am the worst nice of male and/or the worst nice of human being. My self-esteem is like that of someone at the bottom of a pyramid scheme who's realized the pyramid scheme exists. I'm practically agoraphobic, sociophobic (I've got the loveliest mental cocktail of reactive attachment disorder, low-grade PTSD, mild traumatic brain injury, Asperger's, dysthymia/depression, etc.), ablutophobic (meaning I fearfully avoid maintaining my personal hygiene which is obviously harming me)...the list goes on like that. I have NO MONEY. I have attempted suicide before, and when I did it was because of gender dysphoria. I'm overweight (technically not obese). I receive hot flashes. I've got a plethora of ills, most of which aren't being dealt with properly by anyone, especially not myself since I hate/fear my body. The bottom line is I want and need to be female. However, that's never going to happen. Even if I had the means to receive HRT and/or gender reassignment surgery neither effort would be entirely satisfactory to me. Even if you support transgendered/transsexual people and other forms of gender variation, both of those measures are really cosmetic. Recently, I find myself avoiding food and water for as long as I can (I'm NOT anorexic, but worse still I wish I was or that I could resist long enough to die of dehydration) and intentionally holding my breath until I feel noticeable lack-of-oxygen symptoms. There's something strangely comforting to me about feeling a bit of death that way. I've got so many reasons to kill myself and only one to not do so--no matter what I do, I can't kill my will to live. So, I'm in prison within my possess life. every around me I look a world in perpetual psychopathic turmoil, and I don't understand why a subconscious part of me wants to stick around. I can't keep the world. I can't keep myself. I'm mortal and death does mean that the matter and energy that makes up me will be recycled into a different incarnation and expression of existence. Everything is sick. I have fibromyalgia. It never ends. I don't even know what I'm asking. How can I be female? I don't even crossdress. I don't even have any male fashion sense. How can I kill myself? There are easily accessible knives at my home and I know anyone of them could do the trick. So why am I not stabbing myself right now? I honestly think I'd make better fertilizer than a human being. Help?

Resolved Question: What do you think of height increase surgery?
it is completely acceptable for a lady to change anything about herself through cosmetic surgery, but it seems like the majority of people I talk to condemn limb lengthening surgery for cosmetic purposes for men (i.e. men that want to be taller), in fact most doctors who perform the procedure require you to have a psychiatric evaluation first, could you imagine the same requirement for a boob job? What if someone wanted to go from 165cm (5ft 5in) to 172cm (5ft 8in). What would you think if someone got that done? keeping in mind that for men height is the single most important characteristic that women look for in mate selection. i've recently noticed in the mirror that when i look straight, my right eye is normal but my left eye turns to the left slightly. it's not hugely obvious, but it's still quite noticeable to me. my mum says that it's normal for people to have one eye slightly out, is this true? and being the paranoid person that i am, i'm wondering if i leave it as it is, it'll develop into exotropia or something? also, i got new glasses about 2 weeks ago, if that's somehow responsible? it's the same strength as my last pair, just a larger frame. i've worn glasses since i was 10yrs old, and i haven't noticed anything until now. is there any way to fix this so my eyes are normal and become aligned again? i think surgery is only cosmetic and isn't a permanent solution. will wearing an eyepatch or doing crosseye exercises help? thank you so much for your time, i greatly appreciate any answers ><

Voting Question: Should i believe my girlfriend that she never cheated on me?
hi, im wit a girl the last 4 years.. we receive on great most of the time, and proclaim our adore and attraction for each other constantly. shes a very glam type girl, clothes, make up, and cosmetic surgery type...and she gets alot of attention from other men.im ok wit this most of the time, as i receive attention from women also, and she seems to deal with this too. in the past we have broken up numerous times, and dne stupid things like go on dates with other people or set u silly facebook pages to try and make the other person jealous, which i know i extremely childish. After a day or two or sometimes a week,,we always receive back together. although i know she thrives off the attention frm other men. in the past i always had trust issues with her, as i believed she cheated on me while we were together, but a few nights ago, i was at work, and she was at home with her sister and a few friends having a few drinks. i was heading to her place at 4am when i finished my work (security guard), and she even txt me at 11pm just to mak sure i was still coming to hers.. i told her i was, andi didnt hear from her again that night. i knew she was drunk at this stage due to the wordin of her txt msg. i got to her home at around 4.30am and found a odd car outside, i passed no heed on this at first, i then wet to unlock the front door, and found it was left unlocked at 4.30am !!! i walked up to her room, turned on the light and found her laying topless on her bed with a guy just dressed in his boxers laying next to her... he woke up and began to panic,, im very well built and ive been told very intimadating to some people, so this guy,, got up, began to stutter and stammer and i asked him who he was and why he was in bed with my gf... he relied simply saying i did nothing wrong... my gf then woke up and started saying whos this guy beside me,, she was very drunk and didnt look to know who he was.. i asked the guy to leave an he begged me not to hit him.. i jut told him receive in his car and go..he did so... my gf then was fully awake and told me that the guy was there to be with her sister and they put him out of the home before they went to bed... he then came back in an climbed into bed with my gf... now alot dosent add up in both of their stories as iv confrnted the guy about this also... im sorry about the long story but i just want other opinions to look what people think,,,, should i believe her that nothing happened ? n

Resolved Question: Could a person educated in plastic surgery answer a few questions for me?
These questions concern my choice to have cosmetic surgery done on myself. If you think that's wrong or unethical for whatever reason, frankly, I just don't want your two cents. I didn't put this question up to be talked out of my decision. I have my possess morals and beliefs on the subject, and if I can improve myself intellectually, socially, emotionally, and culturally, I look no reasom why I can't improve myself physically as well. These questions are for surgeons or people with knowledge or experiance in plastic surgery, and those are the poeple I'd like to recieve answers from. I've been contemplating this for a long time now, and I've decided to go ahead and have some plastic surgery done, but I don't know if what I want is practical. I was planning on have my jaw contoured to remove the mandibular angles and narrow the bottom third of my face, and also to have my chin reduced in projection and in height. That would be a lot of change to my lower jaw. Would I have to worry about excess skin if I changed my jaw that much? Also, I planned on having a brow bone reconstruction to remove every brow bossing. Because my jaw and my forehead would receive smaller, it stands to reason that my nose would look proportionally massive, so I would receive a rhinoplasty to, if it's possible, shorten my whole nose. I'm not just talking about the tip of my nose, I mean the entire bridge. If I had to, I'd split the procedures into two separate surgeries; one for my jaw and chin, and the other for my brow and nose. I hear the chin and jaw procedures would be relatively inexpensive, and that the brow reduction would be a lot more money, but with the price of anaesthesia and the fact that I plan to combine surgeries I've had trouble coming up with a price estimate on my possess. Finally, if and when these surgeries occur, and there are no complications, I understand that there could be scarring on my forehead, my nose, and possibley below my chin. How visible would they be? Would a simple dermabrasion procedure be powerful enough to remove them, or would that be a consequence I'd have to live with?
